"Sheer art comes straight from the heart!"

An exhibition was recently held in Vashi, Navi Mumbai from the 19th January till the 23rd. The main motive of this exhibition was to showcase different art that was made on sarees. The designs have been made by local women of rural areas from all around India. Each design has a particular meaning to it. Following are a few designs that were showcased in the exhibition. The designer’s identities have not been revealed.

But there are some interesting patterns and messages that are hidden in these designs. Some designs depict the sacred bond of marriage some depict the daily lives of a woman in a rural area, while some of them are just abstract art. Peacock prints were a favourite. And open interpretations are always welcome. These sarees will now go into production and will soon land into the markets and will be sold in varied prices depending on the material and the originality of the art on the sarees.
